Don't you want one of these things? Really you haven't lived until you've done mildly kung fu moves while standing on a plastic step. And there's a game where you just sit there on the balance board and try not to move. That's my kind of fitness, people. Although the Wii Fit does nasty things like calculate your age based on some random memory, coordination and balance tests. Oh yeah, and it calculates your weight and your BMI. So really it's a fancy scale that scolds you for not having perfect balance. Awesome, right?****

Three more things:
(1) You can get 10% cash back on your purchase through bing. I wasn't able to find the Dell store on the bing cashback page but if you do a search for the word "vizio" you can find a Dell link on the right panel. I've tried to get cash back with bing on the Dell site before and it didn't work but that was because I was using a promo code. I think this should work.

(2) Ok, so this is weird but I'll just tell you what happened. I had trouble finding the Wii Fit on the Dell site and that annoying prompt came up asking me if I wanted to chat with a representative. I always say yes when that happens. I don't have a lot of friends. Aaaanyway, the chat-woman found me the Wii Fit and then asked me if I'm thinking of purchasing it today. I said yes, I'm thinking about it. She said if you purchase it today, I can offer you free shipping on it. Apparently, she needs to read this blog because Dell has free shipping on orders over $49. I'm just relating this so you know that there's some wheeling and dealing to be done on the Dell chat rooms.

(3) You can not only make cartoon icons of yourself on the Wii, but you can make them of your pets. And you can weigh them. So every time I sign on the kittens are there with me on the screen and they show up in the games. I. die. It's so cute.

Cellfire is a web site that will transfer coupons and savings to your grocery store cards. From what I can tell they are hooked up with discounts and coupons for Vons, Pavillions and Ralphs. You can register by giving them your email address, birth year, phone number and your store card number. Then you browse through the products on which they have savings in each store. For example they've got "Save .75 on Betty Crocker Supreme Brownie." You click the "Save to Card" link under that product and it sends that savings directly to your card. So you can go to the store, buy the brownies, show them your card and you'll get the 75 cent discount without a coupon. Seems pretty clever, right. I've signed up for it but don't know if it works. If anyone has tried this, let me know.

Stop what you're doing and go out (stay in) and get this album (download the mp3 of the album). Then listen to it over and over again in your room, on your headphones, and play Track 6 (Hallelujah) over and over again and read all sorts of meaning into the line "love is not a victory march" and wonder what the heck that has to do with cutting your hair and bathing on the roof, and regret that you didn't play this song walking down the aisle (or In My Life, or Canon in D, for the love of ice cream) and remember that The Big Fella also vetoed it as a first dance, then maybe google your ex-boyfriends and call it a day! 25% Bing cashback and The Gap

I was going to tell you that Loft has an extra 40% off its sales items with code SALE40. Yawn. Who cares? I checked out their sale and it's totally blah.

Have you all tried Bing's cashback yet? I guess Bing is supposed to be a search engine or something but who cares about that #2? I only use bing's cashback feature. All you have to do is set up an account with them and before you make a purchase online, go to bing cashback, search for the store you're planning on making the purchase from, click on that store's link .... go through the magical bing portal (a window opens up telling you that you're actually getting to the site through bing cashback -- you must see this window to be sure you're getting the cashback) .... and complete your purchase like you normally would.

So, what's the point of all this? I swear there's a point. There's also a moral of the story at the end of this post. And, there will be a test tomorrow. Just kidding. Bing cashback gives you cash back on your purchases. You'll see that when you search for a store, each store that is part of this cashback program has a certain percentage (that goes up and down) next to it. You get that percentage of your purchase price back into a cashback account. After a certain amount of time (60 days or so? I'm just making that up but it takes a month or two for the cash to become availabe. In the meantime it's pending in cashback escrow.) your cashback becomes available. At that point, the nice people at Bing will email you and let you know that you're cash is available. When your cash totals at least $5 you can have that cash deposited into your paypal account or they'll send you a check. Or something else. I don't remember but it seemed like a bad idea.

Right now, Bing cashback is at 25% for Gap (and possibly for BR and ON too). Just go to Bing cashback and search for Gap or Gap cashback. Shop away with code GAPSALE25, which will give you 25% off on their sale and clearance items. Note that using codes is said to invalidate the Bing cashback. But I've used codes with Bing many times and have never had a problem but do so at your own risk.

The moral of the story (you thought I was kidding, huh?) is to never purchase something online without first checking to see if they've got this deal with Bing cashback.

I love it that retailers send me birthday coupons to use in the month of my birthday. Banana Republic, because they are particularly enlightened, sent me two coupons. Today I got one from Chadwicks. Oh Chadwicks. I love Chadwicks. I love Chadwicks' clearance section. I hate their shipping fees. So great... they send me a free shipping coupon -- which I can use on any purchase over $60. If I was in the habit of making purchases over $60, I wouldn't have a site called Helene's Bon Marche. Maybe Chadwicks doesn't speak French? That's a fail on two counts.
